By coincidence i heard about tailscale for the firsttime today. I tried to understand what the benefit are. seeing people having all their devices accesible from their phone. I am using plain ssh for this for decades. Still not convinced of using tailscale.

I have tailscale for running self-hosted stuff like Jellyfin (media server) and Immich (image host) without completely exposing these things to everyone on the web. When I'm away from home, I can easily access my media and photos without sacrificing my privacy on cloud-hosted providers for those things. It's also completely free with no limitations other than disk space and bandwidth.

My wife is tech-phobic, so having her sign up for Tailscale with her existing Google account and installing the Android app was easy enough for her to agree to this setup.
