I feel like there is a big misunderstanding here. In my house, we've been doing a lot of light "prepping" lately. Not for the apocalypse, but for simple emergency situations for a few days to a week.

The UK government has been pushing hard for the public to stock enough food and water for at least 3 days. We have weeks of supplies.

My huge worry is that the country will run out of LNG due to the ongoing war in Iran, Qatar being offline, and Europe not having enough LNG in storage. Plus, a lot of weird weather due to El NiƱo.

Is an emergency LLM really going to make a difference? Probably not, but I have one on my desktop computer anyways.

You'd be surprised how many people don't even have drinking water stored to get through a few days. That's 2nd most essential after air to breathe.

Same with food. NONE of this type of preparation is difficult, very space / time consuming, or expensive.

As for the LNG situation: worst case is do without heating. Totally doable in UK climate; extra layers of clothing & blankets / sleeping bags do the job (been there, done that in the NL).

Remember we're talking getting through a crisis, not comfort. Although you can have both with more prep work.
